About the Role

Develop and enhance Vercel's AI SDK — a TypeScript toolkit used by thousands of developers to build AI-native products and agents. You'll shape the developer experience for AI application development.

What You'll Do

• Develop and enhance the AI SDK to meet performance standards
• Write clean, efficient, well-documented code with comprehensive testing
• Collaborate cross-functionally with product, design, and framework teams
• Engage with the open-source community (issues, PRs, discussions)
• Gather developer feedback to drive continuous improvement
• Design new primitives for agentic workflows and streaming interfaces

What We Look For

• 5+ years relevant experience
• Strong JavaScript/TypeScript proficiency
• Open-source contribution experience
• Understanding of AI/LLM application patterns
• Developer experience focus
• Comfort working in public (open-source)

Compensation

• Base salary: $196,000 – $294,000 (San Francisco)
• Equity compensation

New York City or San Francisco (hybrid with anchor days), or remote option available.
